Slooper Re-encode is a lightweight, portable batch tool for macOS (Apple Silicon) that prepares your videos for maximum reliability on Video Slooper. It converts entire folders of media into clean, Pi-friendly H.264 files with optimized keyframes and GOP structure.

  • Batch re-encode entire folders (no per-file work)
  • Two presets:
    • 720p — ultra-safe for Pi Zero 2 / Pi 3
    • 1080p — high quality when sources are clean
  • Produces stable H.264 (yuv420p) with regular keyframes
  • Keeps your original files untouched
  • Completely portable folder edition

Place your videos in → MediaKilerIn/

Launch one of these apps by double-clicking it:

• Slooper Reencode 720 (recommended)

• or Slooper Reencode 1080

Your re-encoded files will appear in → MediaKilerOut/

Open the _ReencodeResources folder.

Double-click the INSTALL icon (it is provided as an app).

Do not delete or move any files inside the folder.

The installer will install FFmpeg if needed, set execution permissions, and remove Gatekeeper flags — safely and only inside the app folder. Note: If macOS asks to install Xcode Command Line Tools, the download can take several minutes — this is normal. Let it finish before continuing.

Video Slooper cannot magically fix bad codecs, oversized 4K files, or extremely heavy After Effects exports.

For unstable 1080p60 files, re-encoding to 720p dramatically reduces GPU load and makes playback reliable.

Best for:

  • VJs and live performers
  • Video Slooper users
  • Artists preparing USB demo sticks
  • Anyone dealing with “killer media” that glitches on Raspberry Pi
